Deaf and Hard of Hearing State Plan - Draft
The work of the Nevada Commission for Persons who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing is guided by a state plan developed every 5 years by the Commission. This plan includes recommendations to the state including local governments and community partners to better serve deaf, hard of hearing, and speech-impaired populations.
The Commission uses this State Plan to guide it's advocacy efforts with legislators, state agencies, and other partners. This years plan includes 3 strategic focus areas: Access, Engagement, and Advocacy with recommendations under each focus area.
The recommendations in this plan were developed based on feedback from the community through a series of workshops and townhalls, a survey, and public comments during the Commission meetings.
The Commission is seeking input from the community regarding this draft plan. The final plan will be approved in our September meeting.
